The book says that a small boy Yoro Sisse that he is 16 years old and he lives in the town of Diafarabe. The boys there they do a dangerous journey to feed their cattles. During the journey Yoro has to make sure that his cattle get enough food in the dry. After three moths of journey finally it is time for him to go home. He pus very difficulte thinks in the dry but he did it. Yoro is very proud of hiself.
