The Lost Temples of the Maya

0

An archeologist named Richard Hansen is trying to discover some things about an old civilization called “The Maya”. He wants to do this by digging in its temples and its king’s tombs. He would like to discover the kings buried in the pyramids of El Mirador, the place where the civilization of the Maya grew. A pyramid in El Mirador called “Danta Pyramid” sustains for nearly half a mile, but Hansen is especially interested in one of the smaller pyramids of El Mirador. It has a large jaguar paw with three claws on it. Hansen thinks that this might be a symbol of an important king of Maya who ruled from 152 BC to 145 BC. His name means ‘Great Fiery Jaguar Paw’. Hansen brings a mapping expert and the newest technology to find out if the king is buried in the temple of this pyramid. He is very excited about that! After three hours of searching, the mapping expert finds a room or chamber, that is about eleven meters under the earth, approximately eight meters long and two meters wide, which is just the right size of a king’s tomb. Hansen may soon make a major archeological discovery. He continues the research but he gets disappointed because in the end he doesn’t find anything. But, he gets the disappointment away and says that the that the elusive Kan kings are still elusive. Hansen doesn’t think that the mystery of the early Maya kings is just a story. He continues his research and maybe he will finally find what he is looking for.
